Algonquin - Report Date : October 11, 2021
Dominant Colour : Yellow/Orange
Colour Change : 100 - Leaf Fall : 50
Best viewing : The fall colours along the Highway 60 Corridor are beautiful but the leaves are coming down quickly. The crowns of trees still have colour, but we are losing the red and orange leaves. The understory of the forest, which is what you would see while hiking along the trails, has some good colour. The Birch and Aspen are turning yellow, there are still some good reds and oranges from Maples, and the Oaks are starting to turn copper. Tamarack are slowly starting to turn yellow.
Following high winds and rain, leaves are falling off and you will see bare branches, but now the forest floor is becoming a beautiful carpet of red, orange and yellow leaves.
